Al Ansari Exchange expands its travel card to 37 currencies across UAE
Families can manage overseas expenses through supplementary cards
DUBAI – The Al Ansari Exchange has expanded its Visa Platinum TravelCard to support 37 currencies, becoming the largest multi-currency travel card available in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The move marks a significant upgrade from the card’s previous support for 23 currencies and forms part of the company’s broader push towards digital financial services. The expansion comes as the exchange house celebrates 60 years of operations across the UAE.
Designed for international travellers, the prepaid card is accepted globally and allows users to lock exchange rates before departure. This offers travellers greater certainty over overseas spending and helps minimise currency conversion costs during trips abroad.
Bigger reach
Customers can now hold and spend in 37 currencies using a single card, reducing the need to repeatedly exchange money when travelling between countries. The expanded coverage is intended to simplify spending across multiple destinations while offering easier access to foreign currencies under one platform.
The TravelCard also allows customers to issue up to five supplementary cards linked to a single account. The feature is aimed at families and groups travelling together and can also help parents manage expenses for children studying overseas.
Digital access
Users can manage the card through Al Ansari Exchange’s mobile application and branch network, where they can load funds, switch currencies and monitor spending activity. The digital features are positioned as a secure alternative to carrying cash while travelling.
Ali Najjar, Chief Executive Officer of Al Ansari Exchange, said the expansion reflects a wider effort to simplify cross-border money management by offering travellers more flexibility and control over spending.
According to Salima Gutieva, Vice President and Country Manager for the UAE at Visa, the partnership also gives travellers access to Visa’s global network of more than 150 million merchant partners, supporting secure payments and international spending across destinations and online platforms.
